This week Kettle Collective have featured in an architectural exhibition at our Dubai studio in the Dubai Design District D3. Kettle Collective took this opportunity to showcase the Solar Innovation Centre and The Piers for the local design community. Solar Innovation Centre Construction

Kettle Collective visited the construction site of the Solar Innovation Centre in Dubai where progress has begun. Our site picture shows the ground floor lobby and reception from the drop off area under canopy which is currently under construction. The Solar Innovation Centre is an award winning design by Kettle Collective, focusing on sustainable development in the region. Solar Innovation Centre Model

Solar Centre Model

Completed in 2013, the model of the Solar Innovation Centre has been exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy Open Exhibition in 2014, where it was awarded the architecture prize for ‘Outstanding Work.’ Designer, Sarah Kettle, built two editions of the model and these now reside in Kettle Collective’s studios in Edinburgh and Dubai. The mixed-media model is predominantly made from a paper-thin plastic material.   Share this page:

Virtual Tour of Architecture Exhibition

Architecture Exhibition Virtual Tour

If you didn’t manage to make it to the 2014 Royal Scottish Academy Open Exhibition for Architecture, you can visit in a virtual tour. Kettle Collective submitted two projects to the exhibition, the Solar Innovation Centre and the Ripple Retreat. Both projects managed to achieve awards; ‘Architecture Prize for Outstanding Work’ and ‘Staff Selection Award for Architecture’ respectively.   Share this page:

Kettle Collective win the Royal Scottish Academy Architecture Prize

Kettle Collective have won the Royal Scottish Academy Architecture Prize for “outstanding work by architects of any age” for the Solar Innovation Centre in Dubai. The working model of the project will be displayed in the RSA in Edinburgh until 20th January 2015. This is the third prize for the project which includes the Cityscape Global Future Project of the Year for Leisure and Tourism and the Middle East Architect Sustainable Building of the Year. Two projects selected for Royal Scottish Academy Exhibition

Kettle Collective has had two projects selected to be part of the prestigious Royal Scottish Academy (RSA) Open Exhibition of Architecture. The first project selected for display in the exhibition will be The Ripple Retreat, located on the banks of Loch Venachar in Scotland. Charity, It’s Good 2 Give!, is the driver for the project for the purpose-built respite house for young people and their families affected by cancer.
