This weeks Friday Forum was presented by Andri, who shared her experience from the AA Summer Visiting school 14 workshop that took place in Cyprus.

The workshop centred on a hypothetical scenario, refugees are trying to escape a dangerous war, and they look to the sea to provide their escape. The assignment challenged students to create an easy-to-assemble floating structure, with as found materials, that could be dropped by a UN helicopter to support fleeing refugees.The workshop consisted of two phases. The first phase was research and design - allowing the attendees to explore the materials provided by the brief, and the second phase was fabrication of the structure as well as testing the 1/1 model at Kato Pyrgos beach.
