Our Story

A Collective Vision from the Beginning
Kettle Collective was founded in 2012 by Tony Kettle and Colin Bone, two long-time collaborators who shared a vision: to create an architecture and design studio that would combine world-class creativity with a dynamic, international outlook.
The story began in Edinburgh, where Tony and Colin brought together their complementary strengths—Tony as an award-winning architect with a global portfolio, and Colin as a strategic leader with a gift for building teams and driving projects forward. Together, they set out to form a studio that would not only design beautiful, sustainable spaces but also shape meaningful narratives across cultures and continents.
From the outset, Kettle Collective was never about one voice. It was about many. The name itself reflects this ethos: a collective of passionate individuals—architects, designers, engineers, and thinkers—brought together by a shared commitment to excellence and innovation.
Our early projects quickly placed us on the international stage, with landmark commissions across the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. These opportunities allowed us to grow while staying true to our founding principles: design with purpose, collaborate with respect, and always push the boundaries of what’s possible.
Today, with studios in the UK and the UAE and a portfolio that spans high-performance towers, cultural destinations, and masterplans for future cities, our story continues to evolve. But our roots remain firmly grounded in the values that shaped our founding: curiosity, creativity, and the power of working as one.
We are Kettle Collective—born in Scotland, inspired by the world.
