My Name’5 Doddie Foundation #Your Moment

We are delighted to be working with the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation for our #YourMoment project. As Architects we sketch and draw on a daily basis. We are asking celebrities to consider one of the best moments of their life, and to draw it for us. These drawings will be auctioned by the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation to raise funds for research, to investigate potential cures, and to make grants to individuals suffering from MND.

How can you help? If you know any celebrities that would like to get involved please contact Emma.

Motor Neurone Disease

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) can affect anyone anytime, halting your bodies ability to walk, talk, eat, and even breathe. MND significantly shortens life expectancy, and there is currently no cure.  Around 6 people are diagnosed with MND every day in the UK. We all have a 1 in 300 chance of developing MND. Striking at random, it is not possible at this time to give clear answers about the causes, or risk demographics. Research into this disease has faced a lack of investment over the last two decades. As a result research for treatment and a cure has made little to no progress.

My Name’5 Doddie Foundation

In June 2017 former Scotland and British and Irish Lions rugby star Doddie Weir revealed he is suffering from MND. Doddie launched the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation which has two simple aims; first to raise much-needed funds to aid research into the causes of MND and investigate potential cures. Secondly, to make grants to individuals suffering from MND, to enable them to live as fulfilled a life as possible.

For most people, a diagnosis of MND can feel devastating. As they begin to deal with the diagnosis and what it will mean, they may experience a range of emotional responses, and so good memories take on new and special significance. From the birth of a child to a career highlight, we want to celebrate these special moments with them; and use them as a catalyst to create more in the future. By celebrating #YourMoment with us, you are not only helping us to raise funds and awareness of MND, but also celebrating the special moments that life gives us.
