The Strathallan Academy Centenary Project is now under construction in Perthshire, Scotland. The facility will be a new high performance multi-use games area incorporating 3 tennis courts, 2 netball courts, cricket fielding practice area and fixed grandstand seating.
The building has been designed to integrate into the school campus and to encourage participation and excellence at all levels. Sustainability and energy efficiency are key drivers for the building, which has been designed to minimise energy usage in the construction and running of the facilities.
Coordination with a sports pitch specialist and Sport Scotland was key to the buildings success, ensuring the pitches matched all relevant guidance and performance criteria whilst standing up to the exposed location in central Perthshire.
Phase 1 is now complete and Phase 2 is due to begin in July this year.
“We are delighted that Phase 1 has been completed on time and on budget. It looks fantastic and will offer a high class multi-use sport centre for Strathallan Academy.” said Chris Barr, Architect overseeing the project.
Phase 2 of the project has been designed to compliment the multi-use games facilities and will offer a professional dance studio, viewing gallery, changing facilities and staff/coaching areas.
