Project Description

Muscat, Oman

Building Type

Located at Al Mouj with views into the marina and out to the sea, The Pebbles development references the architectural precedent locally in Muscat and in the wider context of Oman.

Local historical building forms, local materials, the indigenous landscape and the need for shade in the warm climate inform the contemporary architecture concept.

The Pebbles is made up of three independent towers sharing a common plinth, resembling a series of stacked pebble towers found on Omani beaches. The shape generated by following this concept results in an extremely modern, organic and dynamic building and offers a variety of apartments products with fantastic views of the marina, the ocean, coastline and golf course across the water.

The relationship and the shape of the 3 buildings also forms channels of airflow which contributes to the reduction of the overall cooling load. The overhanging large terraces protect the glass of the fa├žade from direct sunlight providing enhanced environmental comfort for residents.
