Moscow City Evolution Tower

Tony Kettle whilst at RMJM, led the concept design team for the Evolution Tower. The team collaborated with Karen Forbes, Professor at Edinburgh College of Art in the conceptual design for the ‘wedding palace’ base and the commercial tower, inspired by “Rodin’s Kiss”, representing marriage.
Whilst forming an important civic focus, it operates on a highly personal level, as a public expression of a private vow. Its sensuous form is a critical element of the design, addressing the quality of its conceptual invention and a high level of technological engineering.
The design recognises, indeed, celebrates the speed and energy of urban life in Moscow. It makes a statement of innovation amid the many historical landmarks, yet avoiding doing harm to the historic aesthetic.
